Job Description
Supporting delivery of works across the Games minor venues program, the SHE Advisor plays a hands-on, site-focused role providing safety assurance across design and construction delivery teams in Queensland to ensure safety systems, processes and standards are upheld on the ground. How you'll make a difference: Serving as the go-to SHE resource for site teams and supervisors across Queensland project locations, providing practical, on-the-spot advice that helps people work safely and confidently every day. Playing an active role in the fundamentals that keep safety on track - conducting spot checks, audits, inspections and incident investigations using ICAM methodology, and applying sound judgement across varied site conditions. Partnering with design and construction delivery teams and contractors in the field, acting as the client's eyes on the ground to ensure safety systems and standards are reflected at every stage of delivery. Coaching and influencing site supervisors and leadership to uphold safety expectations, building trust and credibility as a visible, on-site presence. Producing clear, well-structured reporting on safety performance and investigation outcomes, keeping the Senior Manager informed and supporting good governance across the program.
Qualifications
The qualities that help you thrive The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes, you could still be a great fit for this role, we encourage you to apply. Degree qualified in a safety-related discipline (preferred), with ICAM Lead Investigator certification. Approximately 10 years' experience in a safety role within construction, infrastructure or utilities, including exposure to structural, geotechnical or civil works. Comfortable operating autonomously across multiple sites, with flexibility to travel regularly across Queensland. Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with contractors, site teams and client stakeholders. High-risk licences and Working at Heights certification advantageous; exposure to high-risk environments viewed positively.
