This candidate will lead the Account Opening & Maintenance Technology Portfolio within Wealth & Investment Management Technology (WIMT). This leader will drive the modernization, delivery, stability, and innovation of a critical portfolio supporting the end-to-end client onboarding and account servicing ecosystem across Wealth and Investment Management The portfolio enables core business capabilities including digital and advisor-assisted account opening, customer onboarding, account maintenance, regulatory compliance, client data management, document management, workflow orchestration and integration with brokerage, advisory, retirement, trust, and banking platforms This role requires a strong engineering leader with expertise in enterprise-scale distributed systems, modern cloud and data platforms, AI-enabled solutions, and large program execution. The ideal candidate will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering resilient, scalable, secure, and highly available solutions while partnering closely with business, architecture, product, risk, compliance, and operations stakeholders. The successful candidate will have experience leading modernization initiatives, implementing Agentic AI capabilities, driving DevOps maturity, and building engineering cultures focused on operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement This leadership role is responsible for the technology strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of the Wealth and Investment Management Account Opening & Maintenance portfolio. The individual will lead multiple engineering teams supporting client onboarding, account servicing, customer data, workflow automation, and regulatory compliance while driving modernization through cloud adoption, API enablement, AI-powered automation, and application transformation. Partnering closely with business, product, and architecture leaders, they will define and execute technology roadmaps, promote engineering excellence through Agile, DevSecOps, SRE, and platform engineering practices, and ensure scalable, secure, and resilient solutions. Additionally, this role will champion operational excellence, oversee modernization initiatives, improve reliability and performance metrics, and serve as a key escalation point for critical technology and production support matters Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com In this Role, You Will: Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk, responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture; for example cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment
