Maintenance Planner Job Summary The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and improve overall plant efficiency. This role works closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Production teams to ensure maintenance work is properly planned, prioritized, and executed safely and effectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Develop detailed work plans, including labor requirements, parts, tools, permits, and safety requirements. Create and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and ensure timely completion. Review and prioritize maintenance work orders in accordance with plant objectives and operational requirements. Coordinate equipment shutdowns, planned outages, and major maintenance projects. Verify availability of materials, spare parts, equipment, and resources prior to scheduling work. Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and Production Managers to determine repair priorities and maintenance needs. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and work order documentation within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Monitor and analyze maintenance performance metrics such as equipment downtime, PM compliance, schedule attainment, and maintenance costs. Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reliability, and operational efficiency. Support inventory management of maintenance parts and recommend appropriate stocking levels. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, environmental regulations, and applicable standards. Assist with root cause analysis investigations and corrective action implementation for equipment failures. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness.

Education Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered.

3-5 years of maintenance, maintenance planning, reliability, or manufacturing experience preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment. Experience utilizing a CMMS system preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, equipment, and manufacturing processes. Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance principles. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation. Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and CMMS software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational demands. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, temperature variations, and industrial hazards. Ability to walk production areas regularly and conduct equipment inspections. Ability to occasionally climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Manufacturing plant environment. Occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency support may be required to support maintenance activities and production schedules.
