About this role

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.

Role

Expectations The Application Engineer will serve as the primary technical consultant for MSC Marc nonlinear simulation solutions, providing end-to-end pre-sales and post-sales support throughout the customer lifecycle. This role is responsible for solution consulting, technical validation, project implementation, user enablement, and troubleshooting for customers in industries including new energy batteries, automotive, composite materials, plastics, electronics packaging, and general manufacturing.

Job Description

Engage with customers to understand simulation requirements and develop technical solutions using MSC Marc. Deliver software demonstrations, Proof of Concept (POC) studies, benchmark evaluations, feasibility analyses, and technical presentations. Provide technical support for daily software usage, model setup, solver debugging, troubleshooting, and simulation workflow optimization. Support customer projects involving nonlinear simulations such as large deformation, contact, plasticity, creep, thermo-mechanical coupling, residual stress, assembly stress, and structural swelling. Conduct customer training programs, hands-on workshops, and best-practice sharing sessions to improve simulation capabilities. Monitor project execution, resolve technical challenges, and ensure successful deployment of simulation solutions. Develop industry-specific simulation case studies, best-practice documentation, troubleshooting guides, and technical knowledge repositories. Collaborate with sales and technical teams on product promotion, customer engagement, and solution development. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Vehicle Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related disciplines. Fluent in both written and spoken English. Solid understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) principles and nonlinear simulation methodologies. Hands-on experience with MSC Marc and its simulation workflow. Familiarity with: Material nonlinearity (plasticity, hyperelasticity, creep) Geometric nonlinearity (large deformation and large rotation) Contact nonlinearity (surface-to-surface contact, friction, interference fit) Thermo-mechanical coupled analysis Stress, strain, deformation, and failure analysis Ability to independently perform model preparation, mesh generation, material definition, boundary condition setup, solver configuration, result interpretation, and report generation. Strong communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills with a proactive learning mindset. Passion for developing expertise in CAE applications and industrial simulation technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in battery, composite materials, plastics, electronics packaging, or structural simulation projects. Knowledge of Digimat composite material modeling and fiber orientation mapping workflows. Experience with Nastran, Dytran, Patran, ANSA, or other CAE software solutions. Previous experience in industrial software technical support, application engineering, or simulation project implementation. Experience supporting customer-facing technical consulting, POC delivery, and solution deployment. We’re doing work that matters. Help us solve what others can’t.
