Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking a Transporter (Per-DIem/PRN) Our ideal candidate will work under the direction of the Radiology Manager, consistently demonstrating an ability to perform a variety of transportation duties and responsibilities in support of the patient centered care program, including but not limited to frequent pushing and pulling of heavy equipment up to 350lbs (occasionally up to 800lbs), moderate lifting, prolonged walking and/or standing. Performing patient transport, transfers, lifting, and repositioning using the appropriate patient lifting equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent. Six months of work experience in a hospital or medical care facility performing patient transportation services preferred. Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card (BLS). Complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Skills
Ability to work in potentially stressful or emergent situations. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively. Ability to relate to patients in a professional and courteous and manner. Basic knowledge of patient transportation, safe patient handling procedures, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.
