QA Technician - 1st Shift

Shift: 4:00 AM-2:00 PM Hourly Rate: $23.56 an hour Reporting to the Quality Assurance Team Leader, this role supports plant quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance through a blend of laboratory testing and production floor activities. Approximately 40% of the time is spent performing laboratory analysis and documentation, with 60% spent on the production floor monitoring processes, conducting inspections, and partnering with operations teams. This position helps ensure quality standards are met through testing, data collection, auditing, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A Taste of Your Responsibilities Perform tests to ensure quality standards are met. Input data into computer systems to maintain a permanent record of all finished analyses. Follow established procedures and make decisions based on company specifications. Identify differences from standard specifications and notify management when such differences are found. Monitor production processes to verify compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Conduct product inspections, audits, and evaluations throughout the manufacturing process. Collect samples and perform quality checks using established procedures and specifications. Document inspection results, non-conformances, corrective actions, and quality-related activities accurately and timely. Work well in team settings and collaborate with multiple departments including operations, maintenance, corporate partners, and outside vendors. Support plant operations by providing coverage during lab technician absenteeism and vacation periods, which may require flexible shifts, overtime, or weekend work. Assist with quality investigations, product holds, customer complaints, and continuous improvement initiatives. Verify that sanitation and good manufacturing practices are followed throughout the facility. Perform other tasks as assigned. Ingredients Required for Your Success High school diploma or GED required. Experience in quality assurance, food manufacturing, laboratory testing, or a related manufacturing environment preferred. Experience using computer systems for data entry, reporting, and recordkeeping. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred. Flexibility to support operational needs, including schedule adjustments when required. Commitment to food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
