About this role
Who we are
Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams – and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
The role
As (Senior) Project Manager within Helsing's Land domain, you will coordinate internal and external delivery across a complex, high-stakes defence programme, keeping milestones on track and stakeholders aligned at every stage. Working alongside engineering teams, partners and defence customers across multiple sites, you will maintain the project roadmap, track programme performance and surface risks before they affect delivery. You will translate technical progress into clear commercial reporting for senior leadership, and show how your project supports Helsing's wider goals. This is a role with genuine ownership and direct exposure to senior stakeholders, offering structured progression within one of Europe's most consequential defence technology companies.
The day-to-day
• Maintain and update the internal and external project roadmap, coordinating deliverables across engineering and commercial workstreams and keeping the team aligned on priorities, milestones and customer commitments
• Build and manage a project steering dashboard that tracks KPIs across engineering milestones and contractual commitments, providing timely and accurate performance data to senior leadership
• Coordinate stakeholder interactions across internal teams, partners and defence customers, ensuring meeting outputs, decisions and actions are clearly documented, owned and followed through
• Monitor project risks and issues, surfacing challenges early and preparing structured course-correction recommendations for programme leadership before delivery timelines are affected
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Helsing's project management function, translating lessons learned into repeatable practices that benefit the wider organisation
You should apply if you
• Have coordinated project delivery workstreams within a defence, aerospace, automotive or engineering environment, supporting cross-functional teams across technical and commercial milestones
• Have built and maintained project tracking tools, dashboards or risk registers, and can present programme status clearly to senior internal and external stakeholders
• Hold a PMP certification or equivalent, or are actively working towards one, and can apply structured project management methodologies in high-accountability environments
• Communicate with full fluency in English, written and spoken, and can navigate standard defence and procurement terminology
• Are willing to travel regularly across sites to partner and customer locations
