About this role
Company Description
The Category & Shopper Insights Manager owns category and shopper insights for Red Bull in Egypt. This person is the go-to for anything related to category performance, sell-out data, shopper behavior and promo effectiveness. The role is a mix of hands-on analysis and getting in front of retailers and internal teams to land recommendations that can be translated into actions. It covers category analysis, Category Management projects, retail audit and sell-out data, portfolio and promo evaluation, and shopper research.
Job Description
Category Analysis & Insights Track and analyze the energy category; what's growing, what's not, and why. Build category stories and selling decks the key account team can take into retailer meetings. Support range reviews and joint business planning with solid data behind every recommendation. Category Management Projects Lead CatMan projects with key retailers; assortment reviews, planogram and space planning, shelf layout, and flow. Work face to face with retailer category teams to improve category performance in their stores and position Red Bull as the preferred category partner. For non-top customers, provide initiatives and support to Key Account Managers so they can implement them themselves. Retail Audit & Sell-Out Data Manage our data providers; contracts, quality, coverage. Own the regular reporting: share, distribution, pricing, rate of sale. Flag what needs attention before it becomes a problem. Handle ad-hoc deep dives for sales and marketing when questions come up. Portfolio & Promo Analyze SKU and pack performance to guide range decisions; what to push, what to fix, what to delist. Evaluate promos: what's working, what's not, and how we should adjust depth, frequency, and mechanics by channel. Feed insights into the annual business plan. Shopper Research Brief and manage shopper research with agencies; purchase decision trees, path to purchase, shopper missions, segmentation. Turn findings into practical in-store recommendations: assortment, placement, activation. Make sure shopper learnings properly reach the people who need them: trade marketing, key accounts, and field sales.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in category management, shopper insights, or commercial analytics. FMCG background is a must, beverage industry is a plus. Hands-on experience with retail audit and sell-out data (e.g., Nielsen, retailer EPOS/loyalty data). Experience running Category Management projects with retailers, including space and assortment work. Experience briefing and applying shopper research with agencies. Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable stories. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and retail customers. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) are a plus. Ability to work collaboratively across sales, marketing, and trade marketing teams. Proactive and organized; able to balance regular reporting, projects, and ad-hoc requests. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
