Details of the Division and Team:     Loans & Structured Credit Japan is a part of Global Financing & Credit Trading, Asia that covers a wide range of financing transactions for Japan corporate clients, including private credit and corporate loans, across senior and mezzanine parts of the capital structure. You can expect: Corporate Group Insurance – premium borne by company Annual health checkup – cost borne by company (once a year; conditions apply) Flexible Work Arrangements – various ways to work, to fit employees’ needs Child care and elderly care benefits – corporate discount through designated child care & elderly care vendors EAP – free and confidential counseling, online work-life resources Employee networks – Diversity, volunteering, sports, family care - various activities to participate Special leaves entitlement Your key responsibilities: The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Undertaking credit analysis for financing transactions in Japan Preparing Credit Memo, Financial models and working with CRM team for approval for new transactions To coordinate with all infrastructure teams for approvals on new transactions To help answer queries from other banks, investors and insurers during syndication process To work with our Origination team to generate new transaction leads Arrange, underwrite, structure and execute transactions as a key member of the deal team; Analyze potential transactions from a credit and risk perspective, including performing full and detailed corporate and asset valuations and conducting a comprehensive, thorough due diligence review; Perform sophisticated cashflow modelling and sensitivity analyses, as well as analyzing expected returns and performance metrics; Engage in client negotiations and assist the documentation process, including liaising with internal and external legal counsel, clients, and other key external parties; Explain the credit to key internal stakeholders, and obtain necessary internal approvals; Co-work closely with the institutional and regional sales coverage teams regarding loan syndications and derisking activities; and Post-closing, continue to monitor the position’s performance and liaise with loan servicers, agents, and asset managers as required. Your skills and experience: For Associate : Minimum 3 years’ experience in asset-backed valuations and underwriting, corporate valuations, recourse and non-recourse loan structuring and origination and For VP : Minimum 6 years’ experience in asset-backed valuations and underwriting, corporate valuations, recourse and non-recourse loan structuring and origination and Minimum 3 years experience in the leveraged loan, LBO, and M&A areas; Experience working in a similar role in a Japan-based financial institution or fund Native Japanese and business-level English; Prior working knowledge of accounting, including analysis of financial statements; A strong background in identifying, understanding, and underwriting risk; Excellent verbal and written
