Job Description
Job Family Definition: Set and maintain quality standards for company products through the use of systematic processes. Develops, modifies, and executes software test strategies, plans and suites. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. May develop tools and environments to automate test execution. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Management Level Definition: Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others. What you'll do: • Build and maintain system testbeds involving Mist Edge (L2TPv3/IPsec concentrator) along with switches, routers, and servers. • Perform QA validation of Mist Edge datapath, tunneling, and security features . • Validate end-to-end client-to-cloud architecture , including traffic flow across L2TPv3/IPsec tunnels. • Recreate complex customer networking and datapath issues in lab environments and collaborate with US and Beijing Engineering teams for resolution. • Work closely with CS teams to review customer-reported issues and enhance test coverage for real-world deployments . • Create and manage bugs in Jira and drive closure with Engineering teams . • Perform timely escalation of critical datapath, scale, or performance issues . • Develop technical documentation for QA and CS teams in Confluence . • Train and mentor Level 1/2 Engineers on advanced networking, tunneling protocols, and troubleshooting techniques . • Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test creation, log analysis, and debugging workflows. • Contribute to automation frameworks using AI-assisted code generation to improve test coverage, regression efficiency, and defect detection. • Apply AI-assisted approaches for anomaly detection, traffic pattern analysis, and faster root cause identification . What you need to bring: • BE/ME/MS in EE, CS, or related discipline. • Strong understanding of low-level datapath and packet processing . • Hands-on experience with L2TPv3 and IPsec (tunnel establishment, encapsulation, troubleshooting) . • Solid knowledge of Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 Routing concepts (VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, trunking). • Experience with DHCP Relay, RadSec, and authentication flows . • Working knowledge of multicast and service discovery protocols such as IGMP, MLD, and mDNS. • Strong troubleshooting skills using packet captures (Wireshark/tcpdump) and log analysis. • Ability to analyze and debug complex networking issues across
