Chemical Process Engineer

As a  Chemical Process Engineer,  you will be the technical lead for assigned reactor systems. This is an onsite position at PPG’s Circleville, Ohio facility and reports to the Process Engineering Manager.

Monitor the quality of and improve manufacturing methods from raw material receipt to customer delivery to ensure all customer requirements are met Lead the proper operation of reactor systems to ensure compliance with established safety standards, customer requirements, and automotive quality standards Lead the scale-up of new products and assure quality systems are in place for process changes to existing products Use Lean methodologies to find opportunities, recommend solutions, and implement corrective actions to help meet plant safety, cost, and productivity goals Develop complete and accurate production logs that ensure safe procedures for producing quality products Complete daily technical review of production batches Support the development and presentation of training programs for operators and other department personnel Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required 3+ years experience in chemical manufacturing preferred Understanding of polymer/organic chemistry Basic knowledge of chemical plant unit operations (batch reactors, heat transfer, process control, etc.) and chemical plant equipment operations (pumps, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, etc.) About us:   PPG: WE PROTECT AND BEAUTIFY THE WORLD ®  Through leadership in innovation, sustainability and color, PPG helps customers in industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction markets and aftermarkets to enhance more surfaces in more ways than does any other company.
