Accounting Manager, AWS Supply Chain Accounting

You will contribute to optimize AWS’s supply chain, capturing operational benefits in terms of continuity of supply and cost efficiency. Key job responsibilities Technical Accounting & Controllership - Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers - Review licensing agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606 - Prepare and review technical accounting memos under US GAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance - Execute quarterly reviews and sign-offs on SOX 404 key controls, ensuring robust internal control framework - Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities Cross-Functional Partnership - Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Production, Tax, Sales, and Technology to ensure alignment and effective information flow - Build trust and credibility with senior leadership through clear, concise communication - End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners - Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues - Enhance partnerships between Accounting and various business and IT groups Process Improvement & Automation - Evaluate existing processes and recommend, develop, and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability - Drive AI and automation solutions for operational improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting processes - Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization - Create process improvements with automation and analysis to scale and improve controllership with measurable results Leadership & Team Development - Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects across multiple business verticals - Prioritization of tasks while providing active coaching to a team of talented individuals - Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership - Act as a subject matter expert for internal technology teams and business partners
