Position Summary: The Indirect Procurement Specialist - Purchasing is responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, including purchase requisition creation, purchase order execution, and procurement transaction management across systems such as SAP Ariba, SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, and Esker. The role works closely with business stakeholders, vendors, sourcing teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure procurement compliance, accurate transaction processing, and timely resolution of purchasing-related issues. The position also supports P-Card (Procurement Card) reconciliation activities, exception management, and accurate accounting and commodity coding, while delivering a high level of stakeholder satisfaction through efficient procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities
Generate and manage Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs), including change orders, using SAP Ariba, SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, and Esker. Support business users throughout the PR-to-PO lifecycle, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Validate requisition details, including budget availability, accounting information, cost center allocation, and commodity code selection. Manage and reconcile P-Card (Virtual Credit Card) transactions and refund exceptions within SAP Ariba. Investigate and resolve unmatched purchase order and transaction exceptions while ensuring appropriate accounting treatment. Collaborate with business stakeholders, suppliers, sourcing teams, and finance teams to resolve procurement-related issues. Monitor and ensure timely closure of open purchase orders. Respond to supplier and business user inquiries related to order status, modifications, cancellations, and transaction reconciliations. Track requisitions, purchase orders, and exception management activities while maintaining accurate documentation and audit records. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, transaction management standards, and organizational procedures. Partner with Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Center of Excellence (CoE) teams to align procurement execution with sourcing strategies and business objectives. Drive stakeholder satisfaction through timely and accurate resolution of procurement requests and issues. . Work Experience: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Experience working with US stakeholders and global teams. Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba. Strong understanding of the PR to PO (Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order) process in Ariba. Experience managing and processing Purchase Orders (POs). Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Intake Tool for request and workflow management. Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or procurement operations. Experience with P-Card (Procurement Card/Purchasing Card) processes, including reconciliation and compliance. Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities. Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
