What you'll do
Design and develop high-performance, scalable storage system software for HPE HPC Storage platforms (HPE Cray ClusterStor and DAOS). Contribute to core system functionality, performance, and reliability across distributed storage environments supporting HPC and AI workloads. Develop and maintain core storage system components (data path, metadata, protocols, and management services) Design and implement scalable, distributed storage features with focus on performance and reliability Debug and resolve complex system-level issues across software, firmware, and hardware interactions Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, networking, performance, and support) Contribute to system architecture, design reviews, and feature planning Ensure compliance with HPE secure development lifecycle and coding standards Support testing, validation, and release activities Produce technical documentation and participate in code reviews What you need to bring:
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. Typically 4-6 years experience. Strong programming skills in C/C++ (Python a plus) Experience with Linux/Unix systems and system-level development Knowledge of distributed systems and parallel computing concepts Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, high-speed interconnects) Experience with storage technologies (file systems, block or object storage) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Lustre and/or HPC storage systems Experience in performance tuning and large-scale distributed systems Familiarity with cloud-native or microservices architectures Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools Exposure to hardware/software integration (servers, SSD/HDD, networking) Knowledge and Skills: Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages.
