Design, test, manufacture, installation, maintenance and application of equipment, devices, and systems which use electricity and electronics. Identify, analyze and resolve deficiencies and challenging problems during product development process using simulations, prototype testing, and feasibility studies. Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements. Consult with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products. May estimate labor, material, or construction costs for budget preparation purposes. Deals with large-scale production and distribution of electrical power and the design of smaller electronic circuits and devices.
