As a Software Engineer, you'll design and deploy intelligent systems that integrate robotics, computer vision, and machine learning into our operations at scale. In this role, you'll work on end-to-end software systems that bring robots to life in our fulfillment centers. On any given day, you might partner with hardware engineers and data scientists to design infrastructure that monitors fleet performance across multiple locations. You will design, implement, and launch software services that integrate robots with Fulfillment Center cloud services, detect and respond to automated robotic failures through robust error handling, and develop software that collects and presents metrics from the robotic fleet to identify areas for optimizing performance. You'll move between prototyping new capabilities in the lab and supporting wide-scale deployments in active facilities. You'll participate in code reviews with your teammates, troubleshoot system issues in real time, and contribute to architectural decisions that shape how our robotic systems evolve. Beyond coding, you'll have opportunities to mentor colleagues and share your expertise across the interdisciplinary team. Key job responsibilities - Design and implement infrastructure software that integrates robotic systems into the Amazon Fulfillment Cloud network, enabling seamless communication between on-site robots and cloud-based services - Build and deploy scalable software systems that enable robots to operate reliably and effectively across multiple fulfillment center locations, supporting both new site launches and ongoing fleet expansion - Develop and maintain monitoring, fault detection, and simulation systems that ensure robotic fleet reliability and performance at scale—including metrics pipelines, anomaly detection, and automated alerting - Partner with cross-functional teams—including roboticists, hardware engineers, data scientists, and operations stakeholders—to integrate all components of the robotic stack into cohesive, production-ready solutions - Conduct testing, code reviews, and architectural planning to ensure systems meet reliability, scalability, and operational excellence requirements across the full software lifecycle" A day in the life Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners.
