Robotics Quality Assurance Engineer - based onsite Lexington, KY The Robotics QA Engineer is responsible for validating the quality, reliability, and functionality of the company's robotic systems and supporting web applications. This role executes manual and automated test plans, develops new test cases, documents defects, and verifies software fixes across both robot and cloud platforms. The Robotics QA Engineer collaborates closely with software developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure that new features meet functional and quality requirements before release. This position requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in Linux-based development and test environments while documenting work using Atlassian Jira and other quality management tools. What can you expect to do? Execute manual and automated test plans for robotic systems, web applications, APIs, and supporting software platforms. Design, develop, and maintain test cases, test plans, and test procedures for new features, product enhancements, and regression testing. Identify, document, prioritize, and verify software defects using Atlassian Jira. Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and system testing throughout the software development lifecycle. Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and fellow QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage. Validate software fixes and verify that reported defects have been resolved without introducing regressions. Assist in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and automated regression test suites where appropriate. Execute testing on physical robotic systems as well as supporting cloud services and web-based applications. Analyze test results, investigate unexpected behavior, and communicate findings clearly to development teams. Prepare and maintain accurate test documentation, execution records, and quality metrics. Configure and maintain Linux-based test environments and assist with troubleshooting issues encountered during testing. Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, release validation, and other Agile software development activities. Continuously evaluate existing testing processes and recommend improvements to increase product quality and testing efficiency. Stay abreast of emerging software quality assurance tools, technologies, and testing methodologies. Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. What is the experience needed to be successful in this role? High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Robotics, or a related technical field preferred. 2-3 years of Quality Assurance (QA) experience, software testing experience, or software development experience with responsibilities related to testing and validating code. Knowledge of software quality assurance principles, methodologies, and best practices. Experience developing and executing manual and automated test cases. Understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile development methodologies. Experience testing web applications, REST APIs, and integrated software systems. Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools. Experience using issue tracking
