About this role

Do you want to protect Amazon's customers by securing newly acquired businesses across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa? As a Manager of Security Engineering on the Differentiated Security Team (DST), you will lead the security integration of Amazon's acquisitions in the EMEA region — ensuring acquired business units meet Amazon's security bar from deal close through full integration. This is a people manager role where you will build and lead a geographically distributed team of security engineers and technical program managers. Your primary focus is M&A security integration: coordinating cross-functional security workstreams, managing post-close security findings, and driving acquired environments toward Amazon's security standards within established timelines. You will operate under the direction of the Sr. Manager, SDO Security Integration. Beyond M&A, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to Differentiated Security Initiatives — a program that identifies and addresses security gaps in environments where Amazon's standard solutions do not meet requirements. You will influence how Amazon approaches security for non-standard environments across Stores, shaping strategy and contributing to cross-cutting solutions that reduce risk at scale. Key job responsibilities - Lead end-to-end security onboarding for EMEA acquisitions from deal close through full integration, coordinating with Legal, Corporate Development, Network Engineering, and acquired business unit leadership to meet security requirements at each integration milestone - Manage security findings remediation, post-close conditions, and integration health reporting for your portfolio of EMEA acquisitions, partnering with SDO-wide M&A peers to maintain consistency in security integration standards across regions - Contribute to Differentiated Security Initiatives by identifying security gaps in non-standard environments and influencing cross-cutting solutions that reduce risk for multiple business units — prioritizing paved-path extensions and visibility before building new solutions - Hire, develop, and manage a team of security engineers and program managers; provide coaching, career development, and performance management while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture - Represent your team in stakeholder forums, business reviews, and leadership engagements across the organization, driving operational excellence through clear goal-setting and metrics that demonstrate security outcomes A day in the life You're managing two or three EMEA acquisitions in parallel — checking integration health, unblocking your engineers deploying security tooling into acquired environments, and coordinating with Corporate Development on upcoming deals. You spend time coaching your team through difficult conversations with acquired company leadership, balancing security requirements against operational reality. When patterns emerge across integrations — recurring gaps that need broader solutions — you bring those insights to the Security Initiatives program to influence strategy at scale. No two days look the same, but the thread is consistent: protecting customers from Day 1.
