Job Overview
The EHS Manager is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards in daily operations. This includes adherence to both company-specific policies and applicable legal requirements. Your main tasks:
Manage and maintain the EHS Management System for the Calw site, with the objective of identifying all applicable legal and corporate requirements, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with these standards. Analyze work processes, workstations, machinery, and equipment to identify EHS risks and hazards (risk assessments/hazard analyses) and develop appropriate technical, organizational, and personnel-related improvement measures. Establish and monitor EHS initiatives and programs. Identify and promote EHS best practices. Develop and deliver EHS training programs. Advise plant management, supervisors, and employees on EHS-related matters. Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety walkthroughs. Perform additional EHS-related duties as assigned by the direct or functional manager. Your ideal profile:
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree is preferred, ideally in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Engineering, or a related field. Professional experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive, assembly, mechanical engineering, stamping, injection molding, or plating industries. More than 10 years of relevant experience in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), particularly in the development, implementation, and management of audit and assurance programs and safety management systems, preferably within a multinational corporation or industrial environment. Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations are highly preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of applicable safety regulations and EHS compliance standards. Good knowledge of management system standards ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001. Demonstrated leadership, communication, influencing, collaboration, and team management skills. Ability to successfully coordinate multiple activities and manage several projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel approximately 10%.
