Watts is a leading brand with a quality reputation — and we have a dynamic future ahead.​ Scope of Position This reliable, self-starting individual, as part of the Mueller team, is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal screens. This position reports to the Mueller Value Stream Leader. This role is onsite and is based in St. Pauls, NC. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Lays out and marks reference points onto screen material (perforated and/or mesh material). Fits and assembles components by operating machines such as arbor presses, riveting press, brazing machine, and resistance welding machines to complete assembly. Spot welds components together. Participate in problem solving, training and Kaizen activities. Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.

Must have solid understanding of basic math. Must be able to read blueprints and tape measures. Must be able to follow routine instructions and then make sound judgments to perform the role safely. Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures. Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

High school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience. 1+ years previous experience in a manufacturing setting. Previous experience with welding or cutting. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices. While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company’s location in St. Pauls, NC. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to: Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor. Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
