Xylem is looking for a Diesel Service Center Technician to report to our Wilmington, NC location and service our Diesel Pumps on-site at our service center. What your day will look like as a Diesel Service Center Technician The Diesel Service Center Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our diesel pumps and their corresponding electrical and mechanical components at our service center in Wilmington. Equipment specific training will be provided, but applicants with previous experience working with diesel, mechanical, and electrical equipment are especially encouraged to apply. This position has general day shift hours Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities. Requirements for Diesel Service Center Technician High school Diploma or GED Valid driver’s license with good driving record- Class B CDL preferred Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical Experience working with diesel systems, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position General diesel engine component location and identification Basic mechanical aptitude Ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems General DC electric and circuit testing skills Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices and procedures Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues--preferred Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing SALARY : The estimated salary range for this position is $28/hr. - $34/hr. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
