The Pre-Pricing Specialist is responsible for providing strategic pricing guidance and managing the pricing process for new and existing customers and products. This includes developing new and revised item estimates, managing the quoting process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize profitability by developing strategic pricing. How you will impact WestRock: Responsible for determining the appropriate pricing and value of the company's offerings using market intelligence and other varying pricing strategies. Work as business partners with Sales to compliment the skillsets of each party to reach company goals. Day to day understanding of external influences of pricing trends as well as internal systems used as resources to derive final inputs in decision making process. Develop and utilize pricing tools to effectively respond to changing market needs and trends. Analyze prices already in place within current business portfolio from both pricing quality and margin perspectives. Act as control point for data accuracy in both quoting process and the estimating system. Manage and process all customer requests for quotations (RFQs). Strive to thoroughly understand all manufacturing processes, equipment, including equipment limitations. Create new item cost estimates and update any required re-pricing of current items due to changes from original specifications or requirements. Review pricing proposal for accuracy and confirm customer specifications for production. Oversee price change process and price record updates. Identify and execute margin improvement opportunities. Identify ways to improve margin individually and as a team by collaborating with Sales and other departments. Execute on identified margin improvement opportunities via formal tracking illustrating desirable impact to bottom line results. Utilize standard processes throughout day-to-day activities and identify ways to improve administrative tasks when they present themselves. Strive to be a continuous learner. What you need to succeed: Bachelor’s degree in in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering or math-related discipline Prior work experience in Paper Manufacturing or a related field Great written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organization Analytical thinker with the ability to logically process information and make informed decisions Well organized with great time management skills to manage multiple priorities Highly motivated to excel and achieve results Detail-Oriented, extremely thorough, and skillful at detecting error with the ability to give meticulous attention to details
