Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Sourcing Specialist provides strategic and operational procurement support, leading sourcing projects across multiple categories and regions (Americas). They collaborate with business stakeholders, coach local procurement teams, manage RFXs, negotiate contracts, and work with Global Category Managers and regional Sourcing Managers to secure competitive costs and terms for Mettler-Toledo. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: • Operational Purchase Order Handling incl. Automation • Maintenance and Support in key tools, templates, processes, etc. • Collaborate closely with Global Category Managers and Sourcing Managers in Europe and the United States to support sourcing initiatives across worldwide locations, assuming increasing responsibility (e.g. negotiation) and engaging key stakeholders at all levels • Provide strategic and operational procurement support to business stakeholders (product owners, service owners) across worldwide locations • Execute commercial and contractual sourcing events, including negotiations and RFXs/tenders, securing competitive costs and favorable terms while mitigating proportional contractual risks • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate sourcing outcomes and savings to management • Ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements in all procurement activities • Support local teams in Malaysia by promoting and implementing procurement best practices and coaching them to follow METTLER TOLEDO's procurement policies and processes
What You Need to Succeed
Background: • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or a related field • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, procurement consulting, sales or key account management, or related fields within a globally operating organization • Proven experience in negotiation, contracting, procurement, and managing relationships with international stakeholders and suppliers Knowledge of: • Experience in a similar role with a solid understanding of procurement processes, ideally within a multinational or global-scale business • Proactive, self-directed, eager to learn, and self-motivated • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel; SAP and Procurement Suite (Coupa, Jaggaer, Ariba) knowledge is an asset • Passion for negotiating favorable deals and effective communication with suppliers
