Systems Engineer Location: Keyport, WA Help Deliver Mission Critical Technology for the U.S. Navy Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport . In this role, you will help plan, coordinate, and execute the integration of hardware and software solutions within a secure IT environment that supports the Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Operations Center (UUVOC) . Working closely with government leadership and cross functional technical teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring complex systems are successfully integrated, tested, and deployed in support of critical Navy missions. Program Timing: This position supports an upcoming proposal opportunity with an anticipated September start.
What You'll Do
As a Systems Engineer, you will: Support the planning, coordination, and execution of hardware and software integration efforts within a secure IT environment. Collaborate with government leadership and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of integrated system solutions. Prepare and deliver clear status updates, technical briefings, and reports for government leadership and project stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts into concise, actionable documentation and communications for both technical and nontechnical audiences. Support the full system lifecycle, including integration planning, system testing, phased deployments, implementation, and transition activities. Document technical designs, integration plans, implementation activities, and system configurations. Facilitate technical working groups, coordinate across multiple stakeholder organizations, and help drive issue resolution and technical decision making. Help ensure integration activities align with cybersecurity, operational, and mission requirements. Support end user training and knowledge transfer activities during system implementation.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 6+ years of experience. Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility or active TS/SCI. Current DoD 8140 compliant certification such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco CCNA. 3+ years of professional experience integrating hardware and software solutions within networked IT environments. Experience implementing solutions using cloud computing services and hosting technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). Broad understanding of the full lifecycle for integrating hardware and software into secure IT environments. Experience supporting system testing, phased deployments, implementation, and end user training. Experience facilitating technical working groups and coordinating efforts across multiple stakeholders. Familiarity with secure system integration planning, implementation, and transition activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences. Experience preparing technical documentation, leadership briefings, reports, and project status updates.
Preferred Qualifications
