About this role

Celonis is the global leader in Process Intelligence and the pioneer of Process Mining technology. As one of the world’s fastest-growing enterprise SaaS companies, we are changemakers pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. We invest heavily in advanced AI capabilities—specifically our Process Intelligence Graph—to turn data insights into immediate business action. We believe there is a massive opportunity to unlock global productivity and sustainability by placing intelligence at the core of every business process. Join our mission to make processes work for people, companies, and the planet.

Position Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join Celonis' Legal team at the intersection of legal operations and legal technology. The Working Student / Intern will contribute to day-to-day contract administration and legal operations work while playing an active role in the team's efforts to build, refine and automate its evolving legal technology stack. Working closely with experienced legal operations and commercial legal professionals, the successful candidate will bring a genuine curiosity about artificial intelligence and its application to legal workflows — and the analytical ability to translate messy, real-world legal processes into structured, automatable systems.

This role suits a student enrolled in law, legal technology, information systems or a related discipline who is equally comfortable navigating a contract management system and experimenting with large language models. You do not need to be a developer — but you should be comfortable with structured thinking, prompt engineering and the kind of problem-solving that turns a complex legal workflow into a repeatable, AI-assisted process.

Primary Responsibilities

Contract Administration & Legal Operations

• Support the end-to-end contract lifecycle: intake, routing, tracking, execution and filing of commercial agreements.

• Contribute to the organization and ongoing management of Legal team knowledge bases, templates and playbooks.

• Prepare reports, presentations and correspondence for the Legal & Compliance team as required.

• Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and unquestionable integrity.

Legal Technology & AI Enablement

• Support the implementation, configuration and day-to-day operation of the team's legal technology tools, including redlining, repository, e-signature and intake platforms.

• Use AI tools (including Claude, Gemini and similar LLMs) to automate repetitive legal tasks such as contract data extraction, clause comparison, template population and workflow routing.

• Map and document existing legal workflows, identifying opportunities to introduce structure, reduce manual effort and enable AI-driven automation.

• Assist with prompt engineering, testing and iteration for AI-assisted legal processes — building simple but reliable automation flows rather than one-off experiments.

• Contribute to internal 'legal engineering' projects: designing and building lightweight AI workflows that help the legal team work faster and more consistently.

• Create clear documentation for new tools, AI workflows and processes so that non-technical colleagues can adopt and maintain them confidently.

• Stay current on emerging legal technology trends and bring relevant ideas to the team.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Strong analytical and structured-thinking skills — able to break down complex, unstructured legal processes into logical, systematizable components.

• Genuine interest in AI, legal technology and 'legal engineering'; keeps up with developments
