The Non-Kinetic Effects Business Area, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently has an opening for a cleared Software Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, OH office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through a combination of software design and development, hardware interfacing and integration, laboratory experimentation, ground and flight testing to deploy cutting edge, next generation solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain mission-critical software in support of national defense, and intelligence gathering products for both airborne and ground-based systems Participate in laboratory, ground and flight testing to validate software Document and communicate proposed software solutions with integrated, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast paced highly technical environment Stay up to date on state-of-the-art programming techniques and software technologies Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure delivery of quality products and enhance skillsets Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering or related field and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree in above mentioned technical field with 2+ years of experience. Must be a US Citizen Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI. Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: C++, Java, Python, Go Experienced in systems integration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex system problems Experience working in a SIL environment Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally from informal one-on-one discussions or in a small group environment. Work well within a team and independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work within a dynamic work environment, ability to handle multiple tasks at once (multi-task) Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing & implementing network infrastructure Familiar with Agile Methodologies, preferably SCRUM or Kanban Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket Experience with model and simulation environments to support simulation and test Experience with Live and Virtual Constructive environments to understand complex systems and troubleshooting points for integration Familiarity with DoD Open Architectures such as OMS and SOSA Experience with containerization technologies such as docker or podman Experience with Kubernetes
