Job Overview
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the ethics and compliance program in Lilly Japan, driving the integration of high performance with high integrity. Serve as the primary E&C point of contact for the Business Units and Commercial Capabilities, enabling organizational adherence to Lilly’s Code of Conduct and applicable laws, industry codes, regulations, and OIG guidance through the seven elements of an effective compliance program. Play a key role in enabling Lilly Japan’s new business initiatives, including but not limited to Consumer Activation and Private Ecosystem. Work with the global Ethics and Compliance organization to implement Lilly’s program (risk assessment and mitigation, policies and procedures, communications, training, and monitoring) in a way that achieves the organization’s objectives with high integrity.
Key Responsibilities
E&C Program Management and Risk Work with leadership to embed the key elements of an effective compliance program into local governance and decision forums, business and operational processes, and training. Lead E&C consultation on existing and emerging risk areas; ensure the business understands the risks and that reliable, well-understood controls are in place to prevent and mitigate them. Develop and implement dynamic compliance risk assessments and integrate mitigating measures into business processes. Leverage E&C data analytics and tools for insights that enable timely and effective risk management. Analyze and identify program and business risks; develop and drive monitoring plans, root cause analysis, and meaningful corrective and preventive actions in close collaboration across E&C functions (E&C Monitoring COE, E&C Capability Teams, Data Analytics Team, etc.). Support E&C procedure localization and provide input into global policies and procedures so that they reflect local needs and remain consistent with Global Policies and Standards. Drive E&C-related compliance communications and training for the business. Communicate the “state of control” effectively to leadership, together with external environment and risk areas and internal policies and standards. Provide compliance support for investigations of non-compliant activities, and ensure consistent application of corrective actions and disciplinary steps, coordinating with Legal and/or HR. Actively contribute to key E&C meetings (e.g., monitoring forums, staff) and business partner meetings (e.g., lead teams). Business Influence and Cross-Functional Collaboration Through deep business acumen and influence across all levels of the organization, ensure business discussions and decisions consistently consider appropriate ethics and compliance elements, with clear business ownership of ethics in
