The opportunity We are seeking a motivated Senior Analyst to join our Service Delivery Center (SDC) Fund Accounting and Administration practice in Real Estate Fund Accounting. In this role, you will provide essential financial and management accounting support for real estate funds and help our clients meet regulatory, tax, and financial statement reporting requirements through our proprietary EY-developed technology platform. Additionally, you will help contribute to the development of junior team members. This position offers a unique opportunity to assist prominent real estate fund advisors in navigating complex reporting and technology challenges, ultimately reducing reporting costs and streamlining regulatory, tax, and financial reporting processes. Your key responsibilities
Understand the intricacies of Real Estate fund operations and financial statement reporting Perform critical accounting activities, including capital calls, valuations, and transaction processing Collaborate with team members to gather and organize client data for reporting purposes Support the preparation of financial statements and reporting packages Be part of defining new procedures and controls to enhance the overall operational risk process Contribute to the technical development of the team by sharing knowledge and best practices Seek feedback and guidance from team leadership to enhance personal and team performance Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget Assist with managing risks and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes Stay current on business and industry trends relevant to our clients, including the latest Real Estate fund structures and investment record keeping standards
Skill s and attributes for success
Understanding of processes and ability to execute detailed procedures based on knowledge of fund controllership, investment books and records, and/or financial statement processes, and regulatory filing principles Knowledge of Real Estate fund characteristics and the application of regulatory and financial reporting rules to those investments
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to deliver client requirements in a regulatory-driven environment, process improvements, and understand operationally complex fund accounting principles Ability to develop relationships with team members across multiple geographic locations and time zones
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in tax and/or accounting, preferably with a focus on Real Estate funds Analytical skills, especially an understanding of transaction posting, and investment trial balance debits and credits related to fund controllership, investment books and records and asset management Strong proven communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn
