ExxonMobil in Malaysia In Malaysia, we host a global business and technology center in Kuala Lumpur that provides high-level information technology and engineering expertise to ExxonMobil’s Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses worldwide. In the upstream, we have interests in two Production Sharing Contracts with PETRONAS, while in the Product Solutions business, we supply a portfolio of specialty chemical products to the marketplace. What role you will play in the team
As an Offsites and Utilities Engineer, you’ll develop capital projects and provide operating support to refineries and petrochemical sites. The Utilities scope is inclusive of steam generation/distribution, water supply/treating, fuel systems, compressed air, power generation, and more. Offsites encompasses tankage, pipelines, product movement systems and flare equipment as well as networks. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will collaborate closely with operating sites and project teams across the globe to drive operational excellence and support the successful execution of strategic projects. What will you do
Assist design teams in the development of utilities and offsites design specifications; including but not limited to creating balances, calculations, diagrams, and project deliverables.
Lead and/or perform optimization studies to identify or evaluate capital or operating cost savings, energy assessments, configuration alternatives, safety facilities requirements, and GHG reduction opportunities. Provide technical stewardship of engineering contractor’s work during front end engineering and design (FEED) or detailed engineering to ensure consistency with ExxonMobil methods and guidelines Provide commissioning and start-up assistance for new or modified facilities Perform various hydraulic, thermodynamic, and reliability-related economic studies in support of the sites. Provide technical support to Operations organization for Utilities or Offsite systems, including high impact process troubleshooting. Mentor junior engineering staff; willing to grow in Offsites and Utilities technical depth. About you
Bachelor (or higher) degree in Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent, required. Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. Experience in utilities (steam, fuel, air, nitrogen, cogen, etc). Experience in offsites systems (e.g. flare systems, storage facilities, shipping, logistics, docks, pipeline). Relevant experience in a manufacturing site (e.g. troubleshooting, optimization, start-up, decommissioning). Proficiency with AVEVA Process Simulation and/or AFT Fathom software, Pipenet or EPANET Knowledge of API 650, 653 and 2000 for tankage. Demonstrated design experience.
Major project experience (>$100M per project).
Ability to deliver high quality design and project development deliverables within schedule and on budget. Effective interface management skills to help incorporate input from various technical specialties into design deliverables. Must be willing and able to travel or relocate as required including internationally.
