About the Role

Grade Level (for internal use): 08 The Contract Commercial Support Specialist supports the smooth operation of the contract management team by assisting with daily tasks and providing reliable operational support to both the Team Manager and Senior Specialist. This role is responsible for accurate contract data entry into CPQ, managing global orders—including new, amended, and renewal contracts—and tracking case statuses to ensure transactions progress efficiently from deal creation to fulfillment. By monitoring escalations and collaborating with Sales and other departments, the Specialist helps resolve client inquiries and contract issues promptly, contributing to a positive customer experience. The role maintains strict adherence to the OTC ecosystem and follows established procedures to meet business SLAs while supporting compliance with pricing and legal standards. Through diligent documentation and process execution, the Specialist helps maintain high standards of contract management, supports audit readiness, and contributes to ongoing improvements in team workflows. This position plays an important role in ensuring operational accuracy, timely order processing, and effective communication within the department.

The Team

This role will be part of the S&P Global Energy team and provides an opportunity to join a successful Fortune 500 company with exposure to commercial functions and support systems. You will develop a global mindset through close collaboration with sales teams across the globe. This position is critical in supporting the financial goals of S&P Global Energy. Responsibilities and Impact: Perform contract data entry into CPQ deals. Manage all global orders, including new orders, amendments, and renewals, with an emphasis on Global Majors, Strategic Customers, Large Regional Customers, and highly complex orders requiring resolution. Track the status of cases to ensure smooth transaction processing from deal creation through fulfillment and invoicing. Monitor escalations from various stakeholders, including Sales, Client Services, and other teams. Gather responses and clarifications from all relevant teams to ensure prompt case resolution. Assist Sales with client inquiries regarding products, billing, account and contract status, address changes, cancellation requests, rebill requests, and other related matters. Provide a high level of contract management support to the sales organization. Regularly attend BPM meetings and report deal and case statuses for key accounts both verbally and in writing, as needed. Ensure 100% adherence to the CPQ ecosystem and all service procedures that provide business partners with comprehensive, actionable, and solution-oriented metrics. Meet or exceed business SLAs and process requirements through effective prioritization, timely issue resolution, and adherence to established guidelines. Collaborate across the S&P Global Energy organization to resolve sales contract management issues in a timely manner. Contribute to the review, enhancement, and updating of departmental processes and workflows. Document all activities, communications, and case management progress within CPQ. Provide information and documentation as required for audits.

Basic Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. Proven experience in contract management and order processing Demonstrated proficiency in accurate data entry within CPQ systems or similar platforms Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken Strong analytical skills with ability to track case statuses and ensure smooth transaction processing Established ability to work effectively across multiple departments and team.
