Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. What You'll Get To Do: Designs and develops key capabilities and performance requirements for the Guidance Computer (GC). Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications. Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces. Defines system implementation approach and operational concept. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline from an accredited university plus 12 years related experience OR Master's Degree plus 10 years related experience OR PhD plus 8 years of related experience. Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope Must obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) a pproval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronics design and verification Experience defining hardware/software and hardware/hardware interfaces Mature requirements definition experience including definition of verification plans. Experience with engineering requirements management tools (i.e. DOORS). Experience working on an agile team. Understanding of the following specialty areas: nuclear surety, cybersecurity, flight safety.
