Here, you will find more than just a job—you will find purpose and pride.  Summary of Position: Start-up, operate and control all services required by production and supplies through the waste waters transferred to PRASA and the waste treatment plant, including related duties such as taking samples, conducting tests and completing required paperwork. Make logical and necessary decisions pertaining to the proper operation of equipment related to the wastewater treatment plant operation according to present standards and/or operating conditions Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Take readings from wastewater transferred to PRASA and make necessary corrections on those parameters deviating from set points. Clean units and report changes on water characteristics for proper corrections. Add chemicals as required. Operate steam stripper and make changes according to lab results obtained and operation needs. Clean filter press, checks for damaged filter bags and unload salts into drums and dumpsters as required. Identify drums and place them in assigned place. Generate work orders to correct unsafe situations, defective equipment and leaking utilities service lines. Act as lead operator when required by the supervisor. Must be organized and take notes of all work performed to maintain accurate records Responsible for making decisions within the job function assigned. Calculate for polymer and flocculent addition and note all tank transfers in log sheets including water to PRASA, as required. Handle and report spills, leaks and unpredictable situations, such as failures of equipment. Responsible for maintaining the wastewater treatment plant parameters as consistent as posible.

Qualifications

Language: Ability to read and understand English & Spanish Regulations: Comprehensive knowledge of cGMP, FDA & EHSS regulations Technical Qualification & Other Background: Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays Able to interpret and convert units of measure, such as: temperature pressure, flow, area, mass, distance, volume or other Mathematical Reasoning: Add, substract, multiply, divide and calculate percentage as well as able to use a calculator or other associated electronic equipment Ability to follow written procedures and/or verbal instructions communications by telephone, fax or shortwave radios Knowledge of sampling techniques Preferably Waste Water Management License Specific Required Competencies by Role: Individual Contributor Level I Timely Decision Making, Information Skills, Technical Learning Ability to work irregular hours, holidays and weekends Education: Associate Degree in Science field Preferably Bachelor Degree in Science field Job Experience: No experience required US Benefits at Baxter (except for Puerto Rico) This is where your well-being matters.
