What You Will Do
Assist in the creation, revision and released of product documentation artifacts including drawings, Model Based CAD definition, dimensioning and tolerancing. Be responsible for timely release of engineering product documentation. Assist optical engineers in the creation of optical element drawings conforming to MIL-PRF-13830 and ISO 10110 standards. Assist mechanical engineers in the creation of documentation artifacts conforming to ASME Y14.5-2009 or greater Geometric Tolerancing principles. Assist all engineering disciplines in the release of product data utilizing Windchill PDMLink and Enovia PDM tools. Documentation/database checking responsibilities for new documentation and design data release or revision to existing documentation and data. Assist in the area of training and mentoring of new design technicians and/or engineers in the current procedures for design and documentation release. Using contract/project requirements: Provides highly skilled electro- mechanical design and design documentation technical support and project leadership with or without the assistance of mechanical or electrical engineers working in the areas of research, product design and development, product testing and manufacturing process improvement. Capable of completing design tasks based on knowledge of the product parameters or design requirements and with minimal involvement of the project engineer. Capable of performing tasks involving product collateral support in the fabrication/manufacturing areas and have the knowledge and understanding to provide design change and documentation revision system support with minimal involvement or assistance required from the Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineers. Applies knowledge of manufacturing, tolerancing, and producibility capabilities during the design process to ensure cost effective design. Assists engineering in determining and employing proper specifications for materials, finishes and processes, connectors or other electrical components, etc. during the design process. Has an expert level understanding of the CAD and data management tools to enable completion of design tasks. May provide design database and documentation checking for new design and drawing release. May provide validation of change definition artifacts for revisions to existing design and drawing/documentation. May provide validation of revision capture definition into formal design and documentation data in accordance with defined change requirements. Provides mentoring and training to
