About this role

Directly reporting to the Senior Director, Market Access Diagnostic (DxS), the Sr. Manager of Payer Relations and Contracting will be primarily responsible for managing payer account strategy within a specific geographic territory (western half of US), focusing on contracting and negotiating reimbursement rates for Hologic Oncology Services products. We are seeking a high-performing, proven leader to develop and execute strategies that will expand in-network contracts for both Breast Cancer Index (BCI) and CancerType ID (CTID). Fundamental responsibilities of this role include:

Lead the development and execution of contracting strategies aligned with organizational objectives across national and regional payers, LBMs, IDNs, IPAs, and state Medicaid plans that maximize contract value, reimbursement, and patient access. Negotiate optimal reimbursement rates and contract terms to ensure financial sustainability, market competitiveness, and improved patient access. Cultivate and expand strategic relationships with payer executives, medical directors, policy decision-makers, and other key stakeholders within the oncology community to strengthen collaboration and contract performance. Partner closely with the broader Market Access team to develop, align, and communicate payer engagement strategies, contracting priorities, and tactical plans. Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical and Medical Affairs, Outcomes Research, Marketing, Billing, Finance, Sales, Legal, and Regulatory teams to develop evidence-based value propositions and support payer engagement activities. Demonstrate an ownership mentality by proactively managing assigned accounts, identifying growth opportunities, and driving accountability for access and reimbursement objectives. Foster a highly collaborative environment by building deep, strategic relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders to advance organizational and patient access goals. Maintain detailed records of payer interactions, contracting activities, and engagement outcomes to monitor progress, evaluate performance, and inform future account and contracting strategies.

Successful candidates will have strong leadership skills and experience in securing payer coverage and negotiating contracts, ideally with a background in the diagnostic industry. Candidates should possess strong communication and organization skills, as well as an ability to manage, track, and coordinate complex, simultaneous initiatives. Qualifications

8+ years of healthcare experience working for a diagnostic / biotech company, healthcare consulting firm, or health insurance company 5+ years of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers on contracting and network management Strong technical knowledge of payer contracting (negotiations, language review, contract format and structure) Demonstrated success in achieving annual targets Direct experience with or demonstrated understanding of the health care revenue cycle Proficiency in handling intricate details related to both quantitative reimbursement and legal language ensuring they meet overall business objectives Proven track-record of successful negotiations with payers Strong decision-making skills and ability to take initiative and act independently Excellent organizational, communication and negotiation skills Proficiency with financial analyses preferred

Bachelor’s Degree required

This fully remote role supports payers in the West Region. To facilitate collaboration and coverage during core business hours, candidates based in the Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones are preferred. The annualized base salary range for this role is $137,400 to $229,100 and is bonus eligible.
