Job Summary
In this role, you will ensure that the molding and extrusion processes operate at maximum output while maintaining the highest quality, with minimal supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare molds and molding presses for production operations, including but not limited to setup, cleanup, and conditioning runs, and perform eccentricity checks. Ensure injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and connected automated systems are set to regulatory parameters, meet quality standards, and achieve all production goals. Set up and start molding machines, read blueprints, and check products using calipers, optical comparators, and other testing methods and devices. Perform or assist with molding press line clears when required. Monitor scrap rates and cycle times. Develop, recommend, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiencies. Perform and assist with mold changes on all types of molding presses. Perform installation, removal, delivery, retrieval, transport of molds and other associated machinery and equipment; ensure that adequate materials and equipment are at the required location to perform this work in the safest, most effective, and most efficient manner possible. Troubleshoot, problem solve, and apply solutions as required or requested; ensure processes run within the predetermined control parameters, including making adjustments within allowable limits, evaluating operator techniques, and evaluating materials to ensure acceptable products. Monitor SPC data and control charts for quality. Work with mold cleaning to determine and optimize various tasks such as the length of time between mold cleaning, the best type of surface preparation for each mold and product, and work on faster mold changeovers. Initiate and write Tooling Repair Requests when pins, bushings, molds, or mold cavities need replacement. Initiate and write maintenance repair requests as needed. Assist Engineering and Maintenance teams as requested. operate forklifts if required. Conform with and abide by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions, and all safety rules. Exhibit regular, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs. Education
High School Diploma or GED Required. Associate’s degree or working toward degree in technical discipline preferred. Current or prior molding/automation certification prefered. Work Experience
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in molding operations or related mechanical/automation experience required. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must possess knowledge of machinery, including hydraulics, electrical and solid state components, and secondary equipment such as grinders, trim presses, and chillers. • Must be able to independently solve technical and/or mechanical issues. •
