Principal Production Quality Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for ensuring product integrity, compliance, and robust manufacturing performance within an AS9100‑certified aerospace production environment. Recognized as a subject‑matter expert in Production Quality Engineering, this role independently leads difficult and complex quality initiatives, manages moderately sized projects, and drives improvements that significantly impact the performance of the value stream. Provides expert input to new products, processes, and operational plans, influences policies and procedures across functional boundaries, and strengthens RTX Zero Defects and quality excellence objectives. What You Will Do : • Serve as the senior quality focal for assigned production value streams, ensuring alignment with AS9100, RTX Quality Management System (QMS), customer-specific requirements, and regulatory compliance. • Lead investigations for customer‑returned product, production escapes, and systemic issues; drive advanced RCCA aligned with AS13000 and validate corrective actions through site-wide read-across. • Own Delivered Quality improvement strategies, leveraging data analysis and cross-functional influence to reduce defects and support RTX Zero Defects initiatives. • Oversee Nonconforming Material Review (including MRB‑level decision-making where applicable), focusing on risk-based dispositions, CONC reduction, and process robustness. • Provide quality oversight in Change Review Board (CRB) activities, evaluating design and process changes and ensuring configuration control and verification/validation rigor. • Manage moderately sized quality projects or processes with measurable impact on discipline results, including production readiness, process capability improvements, inspection strategy development, and quality system enhancements. • Contribute to the development of operational plans, budgets, quality goals, and discipline strategies by providing expert input that aligns quality engineering with business needs. • Lead quality support for New Product Introduction (NPI), including PPAP, ETQP, AS9102 FAI, process validation, and production transfer readiness. • Influence cross-functional teams—Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Quality—on adoption of quality practices, process standards, and defect-prevention strategies. • Coach, mentor, delegate, and review work of lower-level professionals, strengthening team capability and ensuring consistent deployment of quality methods. • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders including customers, vendors, auditors, and partners to ensure clear understanding of quality status, risks, and requirements. •
