About this role
The Senior Manager, JP DSP New Business Initiative, serves as a single threaded leader from the DSP organization for evaluating and launching new business models within Amazon Logistics Japan. This role requires a strategic thinker and hands-on operator who can bridge DSP operations with cross-functional project teams, drive data-informed decisions, and lead end-to-end initiative execution — from feasibility assessment through pilot launch, expansion planning, and continuous improvement. This leader is responsible for building the program's long-term strategy, defining what DSP capabilities need to be enabled and how to operationalize them at scale. The role demands the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders including the program, operations, product, tech, finance or any other relevant teams toward data-driven decisions that are critical to program success. The role will own the full lifecycle from strategy through execution, leading pilot launches and post-launch operations until the program stabilizes as business-as-usual (BAU). This includes establishing scalable processes, monitoring performance metrics, resolving operational gaps, and ensuring a seamless transition to steady-state ownership. At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture. Key job responsibilities - Business Model: Design Develop and define the optimal operational model for each initiative including pricing, fleet, and DSP partner selection ensuring full alignment with AMZL Japan's strategic direction and long-term growth objectives. - Model Alignment & Pilot Planning: Lead cross-functional alignment on the proposed business model and drive structured pilot with clearly defined success criteria, decision frameworks, and evaluation mechanisms to ensure data-driven validation. - Pilot Launch & Data-Driven Improvement: Own end-to-end execution to optimize performance and accelerate learning. - Decision Making & Post-Pilot Review: Lead the post-pilot decision by presenting objective data, clear analysis, and actionable recommendations with full transparency on risks and trade-offs. - Post-Launch Ownership: Own the transition from pilot to scaled operations, leading post-launch execution and continuous optimization until the program stabilizes as business-as-usual, including establishing scalable processes, resolving operational gaps, and ensuring seamless handoff to steady-state owners. - Stakeholder Communication & Cross-Functional Influence: Lead structured communication across project teams and senior leadership, managing urgency effectively, navigating ambiguity, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders toward data-driven decisions. Secure timely alignment and appropriate decision-making at all levels to drive program success. - End-to-End Monitoring & Reporting: Establish and maintain robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms across all active initiatives, providing transparent visibility to stakeholders and leading multi-stakeholder improvement activities to drive sustained performance and accountability.
