Production Leader is in charge of the entire production process for a particular or set of products. They plan, organize and recommend strategies in ensuring that the product is developed successfully, in accordance with all specifications. They supervise teams that work in operations and product development. Ensure safe, efficient production with minimum waste Maintain established quality standards, machine efficiencies, and production levels Communicate these standards to staff Train employees and provide continuous training, including cross training, for each crew member Ensure the performance and documentation of quality control checks Maintain materials necessary to perform production duties Coordinate with supervision and maintenance on any necessary repairs or preventive maintenance and document with work orders Know proper operating procedures for each position in the Corrugator Establish high morale among subordinates by displaying fairness, consistency, and interest in employee problems Process all reports completely, accurately, and in a timely manner Improve managerial skills by enrolling and attending seminars and technical courses, with the approval of your manager Communicate with appropriate supervisory personnel to avoid confusion or problems at shift changes Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including union contract, safety program, and good housekeeping Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SW employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies. Additional duties may be assigned by management High school diploma or GED Able to speak, read, comprehend, and write legibly in English Able to lift 25-50 lbs. on a consistent basis Read a tape measure with speed and accuracy Read and follow instructions on factory masters Have a working telephone number on record with Human Resources, Corrugator Superintendent/Supervisor, and Production Manager at all times Qualified Converting Operator Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred 6 months’ experience as a Corrugator Operator or Corrugator Slitter Operator, preferred Supervisory experience as a proven manager/lead man of at least 5 people, preferred To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently.
