This role is onsite, requiring employees to be in our local office 5 days per week.     Relocation and housing assistance may be available to those who meet the eligibility criteria.     Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time     As a Research & Development Engineering Intern  within the Interventional Cardiology division, you’ll support projects spanning exploratory research to new product development, including work on next-generation single-use and capital equipment devices. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world problem solving, design, and system-level engineering, with responsibilities tailored to your strengths. We’re looking for a motivated engineer ready to contribute meaningful solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced med-tech environment.      Your responsibilities will include:

Design, fabricate, and prototype new device concepts to address clinical feedback Develop new and innovative test methods for in vitro device testing Assist new product development teams with device design and testing

Perform troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process

Research and analyze clinical and market data to identify new market opportunities At times you will be asked to work independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet business timelines and provide updates to other team members

Required qualifications

Must graduate between  Fall 2027 -  Spring 2028

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate level degree majoring in Biomedical Engineering

Prior Boston Scientific R&D Engineering Co-op experience is required

Must be able to commit to the co-op program dates May 10, 17 – August 13, 20 Must be available to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, on-site five days per week Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization

Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN Boston Scientific Corporate location

Preferred qualifications

Experience with medical device systems or laboratory research  Highly self-motivated and able to manage schedule to meet critical deadlines

Independent thinker and skilled problem solver  Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
