Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer Aeronautical - Mechanical to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located onsite in Melbourne, FL . In this role, the successful candidate will research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Key Responsibilities

Review, track, and modify test station design documents as necessary. Generate and track Bill of Materials (BOMs), schedule, and execution of test station development Coordinate with a multi-discipline team (supply chain, operations, QA, etc.) to ensure a quality product is built and remains on schedule and within budget Develop and perform Acceptance Test Procedures for test stations. Basic Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience Must have an active U.S. Government Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company Must have knowledge of NX Design tool or other Mechanical design tools. Must have understanding of test engineering concepts Preferred Qualifications: MS in Mechanical/Systems/STEM Engineering Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance Experience with test equipment, such as, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, etc Experience with test station design and development Experience with creating and maintaining BOMs (Bill of Materials) Experience developing and executing ATPs (Acceptance Test Procedures) Experience as Mechanical Designer Manufacturing/liaison support experience is also desired to support build and installation of assemblies as well as testing of aircraft systems.
