About this role

We help the world run better At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.  What you'll do Join the team behind SAP Concur's mobile platform — one of the most widely used enterprise travel and expense applications globally. Our Android team builds the foundation that millions of business travellers rely on every day, from seamless expense capture to AI-powered spend insights. As a Senior Android Developer, you'll have significant ownership over the architecture and long- term quality of our Android codebase. You'll lead the design of scalable, high-performance features, mentor engineers across the team, and play a hands-on role in shaping how we build mobile software at SAP. Your work will directly impact how enterprise users experience SAP on Android today and into the AI-first future we're building together. Your tasks will be:

Architect and deliver end-to-end Android features using Clean Architecture, MVVM/MVI patterns, and Kotlin — from technical design through to production release. Drive the evolution of our multi-module codebase, improving build performance, scalability, and developer experience across feature, core, and library modules. Build and refine modern UI using Jetpack Compose while maintaining strong interoperability with existing XML-based views. Own performance and reliability — profiling app startup, memory usage, and rendering using Android Studio Profiler and LeakCanary to continuously raise the bar. Champion engineering quality by authoring and reviewing unit, integration, and UI tests using JUnit5, MockK, and Espresso/Compose UI. Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver experiences aligned with SAP Fiori design principles and accessibility standards. Contribute to SAP's AI transformation by integrating intelligent capabilities into the mobile platform and leveraging AI tools throughout the development lifecycle. Mentor teammates, lead design and code reviews, and help raise the engineering standard across the Android team.

What you bring

Solid professional Android development experience, with a strong track record of shipping production-quality Kotlin applications. Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns (Clean Architecture, MVVM, MVI) and modern async programming with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow. Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and the ability to navigate both modern declarative UI and legacy XML-based codebases. Experience with multi-module project structure, Gradle (Kotlin DSL), and CI/CD pipelines — you care about build health as much as feature health. Solid grasp of Android security, performance diagnostics, and platform internals (Lifecycle, WorkManager, background processing). A collaborative mindset and clear communication skills — you share knowledge, raise questions early, and support your teammates' growth. Curiosity and a growth mindset: you stay current with the Android ecosystem and bring new ideas to the team.

Where you belong Our mobile team is made up of engineers who take pride in their craft and genuinely care about the people using what they build. You'll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment where good ideas are welcomed regardless of seniority, and where continuous learning is part of how we work — not an afterthought. You'll have access to SAP's global engineering community, structured learning programs, and real opportunities for career progression. Whether you're deepening your Android expertise or growing into
