Communications Senior Consultant, Controllership

Our Deloitte Finance Transformation team practices to help chief financial officers, controllers, and finance teams define and execute their finance and global business services agendas and strategies. You will work with leading-class teams and solutions, helping clients navigate challenging environments, market uncertainty, technology development, and regulatory considerations to unlock value. Your work may span strategy, operations, process design, and technology as we partner with clients to transform finance. Work You’ll Do As a Senior Consultant, Controllership on the Controllership and Treasury Transformation team, you will be responsible for: Analyze financial transactions and supporting documentation to determine appropriate proprietary and budgetary accounting treatment and general ledger impact Prepare, validate, and post journal entries and reconciliations to support quarter-end and year-end close activities Support governmental financial reporting in alignment with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-136 and internal reporting requirements Execute controls and documentation activities in alignment with OMB Circular A-123 and established standard operating procedures Follow standard operating procedures and accounting policies to produce complete, accurate, timely, and audit-ready workpapers Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve accounting variances, address data issues, and improve close and reporting processes A successful candidate would possess these skills: Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team Effective written and verbal communication skills Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product Ability to build and sustain professional relationships Ability to lead projects or workstreams Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor Ability to meet deadlines Ability to provide clear guidance to others The Team Deloitte’s Government & Public Services (GPS) practice – our people, ideas, technology and outcomes – is designed for impact. Required : Bachelor’s degree Active Secret clearance required 4+ years experience experience performing quarterly financial statement reconciliations and analyzing trends and anomalies in the defense space 4+ years experience preparing, validating, and posting journal entries and reconciliations in support of quarter-end and year-end close activities 4+ years experience producing audit-ready workpapers in accordance with standard operating procedures and accounting policies Ability to work onsite 50% of the time in Arlington, Virginia Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
