THE ROLE

This Test Engineer role is part of a high‑impact team responsible for delivering test software and ATE solutions that enable high‑volume manufacturing of next‑generation AMD microprocessors. You will work across the full test development lifecycle architecting test strategies, bringing up and debugging ATE content, converting patterns, and driving silicon characterization and analysis. This role offers deep technical ownership, hands‑on work with leading‑edge silicon, and collaboration across design, product engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams. This person brings a combination of hands‑on debug skills, structured thinking, and the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, debug, and release ATE test software, diagnostics, timing, and pattern content for high‑volume manufacturing. Lead technically significant projects and drive improvements to test methodologies, tools, and workflows. Perform silicon characterization, data analysis, and structured root‑cause debug across hardware, software, and device interactions. Influence technical decisions impacting product quality, yield, and manufacturability. Identify and execute improvement activities to reduce cost, enhance yield, and resolve quality issues. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to correlate results across lab, manufacturing, and customer environments. Provide technical guidance or mentoring to junior engineers and contribute to technical publications as appropriate. Build strong working relationships with internal partners and support the team’s long‑term product and test objectives.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Programming or scripting with languages such as Python, Perl, C++, or Java. Experience developing tests, vectors/patterns, diagnostics, and timing for ATE platforms. Familiarity with JTAG IEEE 1149.1 and hardware description languages. Hands‑on debug experience across hardware, software, device, or manufacturing domains. Experience with ATE pattern generation and conversion workflows. Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or similar development methodologies. Background releasing test programs to high‑volume manufacturing. Comfort working with geographically distributed engineering teams. Familiarity with revision control tools (GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS) and Linux/UNIX environments. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:   B.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred ; M.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering desired .
