The Opportunity
The Project Manager I is responsible for coordinating and managing small to medium-sized projects from initiation through completion. This role supports project planning, execution, tracking, and communication while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager I partners with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to facilitate project success and drive business objectives. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: Plan, coordinate, and execute projects according to defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, status reports, and risk logs. Facilitate project meetings, document decisions, and track action items. Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies. Coordinate resources across multiple teams and departments. Communicate project status, milestones, and key updates to stakeholders. Support change management activities and ensure proper documentation of project changes. Track project deliverables and ensure completion of assigned tasks. Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and maintain project momentum. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance project processes and practices. What you need to succeed: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years of project coordination, project management, or related experience. Understanding of project management methodologies and practices. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or working toward certification. Experience supporting cross-functional or technology-related projects. Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
