We are currently looking to hire a Machine Operator 1 – Plant 3 based in Eugene/Springfield, OR! SHIFT: Monday-Friday (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) This position is responsible for maintaining safe and efficient operation, changeovers and basic troubleshooting on qualified machines. Machine operators are responsible for machines in the production of food products. Machine Operators can be assigned a I, II, or III designation based on equipment and individual qualifications. Machine Operators are required to successfully complete all training for the equipment centers within their job classification. In this role, you will be responsible for: You will safely, efficiently, and accurately set up and operate product manufacturing and packaging machines. You will support, train, and provide break relief for all positions in which qualified to do so. You will manage the dump and fill stations by maintaining product flow and monitoring for product defects. You will fill semi-finished good in 55-gallon drums or 5-gallon pails. You will retrieve and supply material to machine as it is consumed and make operational adjustments as necessary throughout production, consisting of 50 lb. bags dumped at a high frequency rate. You will recognize any abnormalities that require minor intervention by the operator or maintenance and proactively and consistently seek resolution. You will use observations for sound decision-making and escalates as necessary. Monitors all upstream and downstream processes and communicates to fellow operators to minimize impacts to people, product, and equipment, You will complete and turn in all required documentation in a timely, legible, and accurate manner (Material consumption, routine checks, downtime sheets, safety reporting, etc.).
About You
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE – REQUIRED You will have a High School diploma or GED equivalent. You will have experience or training as a machine operator with demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Must be able to proficiently perform the job. You will have six months of successful work experience that involves demonstrated accuracy, dependability, safety, performance, and teamwork. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE – PREFERRED You will have basic computer skills (keyboarding, Outlook, Excel) and knowledge in the use of SAP and WMS. You will have ability to obtain Company certified use of electric and manual pallet jacks as well as certified in the use of a forklift within 6 months of hire.
