Main responsibilities
Enterprise Sanitation Standards & Program Governance Establish and maintain corporate sanitation standards, procedures, expectations, and governance systems across dairy, bakery, beverage, sauce, and ready-to-eat manufacturing operations. Assure sanitation standard operating procedures are properly designed, risk-based, technically sound, validated, and aligned with product, process, equipment, and facility requirements. Develop, review, and validate Master Sanitation Schedules, pre-operational inspection requirements, sanitation verification methods, and corrective action processes. Technical Sanitation & Hygienic Design Leadership Provide technical leadership for wet sanitation, dry sanitation, clean-in-place (CIP), clean-out-of-place (COP), allergen changeover, environmental sanitation, and hygienic zoning programs. Provide technical guidance on sanitary design, equipment selection, facility condition, drain management, traffic flow, hygienic zoning, and cleaning accessibility for new equipment, process changes, and capital projects. Verification, Validation & Performance Management Evaluate sanitation effectiveness through plant assessments, environmental monitoring trends, pre-operational findings, microbiological results, ATP or other verification data, pest activity, audit results, and corrective action performance. Establish sanitation and pest control performance metrics, review trends with leadership, and drive accountability for timely corrective and preventive actions. Sanitation Chemical & Pest Control Program Oversight Oversee national sanitation chemical supplier management, including program standards, chemical selection, concentration controls, service expectations, performance reviews, cost optimization, and issue resolution. Oversee national pest control program governance, including supplier performance, trend review, corrective action follow-up, documentation standards, and escalation of recurring or high-risk findings. Audit & Regulatory Readiness Support regulatory, customer, third-party, and internal audits by assuring sanitation and pest control programs are audit-ready, properly documented, and consistently executed. Partner with Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, and plant leadership to assure sanitation programs support food safety, regulatory compliance, product quality, and operational readiness. Training & Capability Building Develop and deliver sanitation training, technical guidance, and capability-building programs for plant sanitation, operations, maintenance, and quality teams. Direct and indirect oversight over sanitation teams at each plant This position is in Boise, ID or Pleasanton, CA TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 50-75%; after hours/third shift work required We are looking for candidates who possess the following: Demonstrated expertise in sanitation program design, SSOPs, Master Sanitation Schedules, chemical sanitation systems, environmental monitoring, allergen control, hygienic zoning, and pest management. Strong working knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA Preventive Controls, HACCP, GMPs, PMO (as applicable), and GFSI-benchmarked standards. Experience validating sanitation effectiveness through verification, validation, microbiological data, pre-operational inspections, environmental monitoring, and corrective action systems.
