Staff Industrial Designer, Google Beam

Coordinate the iterative production of experimental stimuli for user testing and the fabrication of mock-ups and rough functional prototypes. Provide experimentally validated digital 3D CAD models and physical prototypes to communicate product goals to external partner original device manufacturer/original equipment manufacturer (ODM/OEMs). Partner with UX, Product Managers, and Engineering leaders to define priorities and envision the future of remote communication and collaboration. Deliver digital models, physical mock-ups, and prototypes of future Beam devices. Coach designers and mentor researchers to design products that balance technical feasibility with innovation.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in product design or UX. Experience with 3D CAD modeling, rendering, 3D visualization, and industrial design. Experience in direct physical fabrication or leading the physical realization of technical UX projects. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization, delivering hardware products. Experience with cross-functional collaboration, alignment, and project execution. Experience in 3D rendering environments such as Unreal, Unity. Experience delivering end-to-end solutions for consumer or enterprise applications in telepresence or video conferencing.
