Software Dev Engineer II, BuyX Detail Page Layouts

As a Software Development Engineer II on BuyX Layouts, you will own the design and delivery of significant features and services end to end, make architectural decisions, raise the operational bar, and mentor other engineers. You will work on scalable services in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years. Key job responsibilities - Own the design, development, and delivery of major features and services, from broadly defined problems through to production and operations. - Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry. - Make sound architectural and technical trade-offs, and drive engineering best practices, design reviews, code quality, testing, and operational excellence, across the team. - Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage and use. - Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the team. A day in the life The challenges SDEs solve at Amazon are big and influence millions of customers, sellers, and products around the world. You will partner with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers (including PE, Sr Engineers) to take features from broadly defined problems to production. As an SDE II you will not only build, but also help shape the technical direction of the team, reviewing designs, raising the quality and operational bar, and mentoring others, while managing ambiguity and the pace of a team that ships fast.
