The Video multimedia team drives the feature development, integration, and commercialization of multimedia applications and features on Qualcomm multi-processor and multi-core chipsets. In this role you will have the opportunity to drive feature integration and development of middleware/driver modules in multimedia on Qualcomm chipsets. The candidate will work with different software technology teams, Microsoft/Google, systems engineering, and test groups across multiple sites. Responsibilities for this position will be: This position requires the candidate to work on the design, implementation, commercialization of various user and kernel mode modules on Qualcomm’s application processor subsystem on the Windows OS platform, as well as Linux/Android. It also requires meeting the non-functional aspects of multimedia including but not limited to performance, latency, power, robustness, and stability. Preferred that the candidate has 1-5 years of experience in the following: • Embedded SW development. • Software debugging skills in embedded real time operating systems. • C/C++ development on Windows/Android/Linux smartphone and desktop platforms. The ideal candidates will demonstrate the following skills/knowledge: • Video compression standards (e.g. H264/H.265/AV1) • Video usage models including playback, streaming, camcorder, WiFi display, and DRM. • Expertise in working with tools and techniques used on Windows (Windbg, JTAG, etc.) • ARM or other embedded SoC development and debugging • Experience in video and imaging technologies, including video compression, post-processing, and computer vision. • Knowledge of software design patterns and multi-threaded programming. • Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and algorithms. • Software debugging skills in embedded real time operating systems. • Understanding of power and performance considerations on embedded systems. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Physical Requirements • Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile. • Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs. • Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting). • Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day. • Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
