Position
Overview: The Sr Manager Secure Gateway Services leads the strategy, architecture, and delivery of RTX's enterprise security infrastructure. This role is responsible for leading a team of infrastructure engineers, driving Zero Trust and cloud security initiatives, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure that supports the organization's cybersecurity strategy and business objectives.
What You Will Do
Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, providing technical leadership, performance management, and career development. Define and execute the security infrastructure engineering roadmap aligned with enterprise cybersecurity strategy and business priorities. Design and maintain secure architecture across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments, leveraging Zero Trust principles and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Establish engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices for enterprise security infrastructure. Oversee the deployment, operation, and lifecycle management of core security technologies, including identity platforms, web gateways, endpoint security, and security tooling. Drive secure cloud and container infrastructure, including landing zones, network segmentation, access controls, and DevSecOps automation. Partner with Security Operations, Incident Response, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Global Trade, Enterprise Architecture, and Application Security teams to ensure infrastructure supports security monitoring, compliance, and operational resilience. Lead infrastructure hardening initiatives, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and operational readiness to defend against evolving cyber threats. Evaluate emerging technologies, manage strategic vendor relationships, and influence enterprise security tooling decisions. Communicate technical strategies, risks, and recommendations effectively to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience , or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience . Experience leading infrastructure engineering or cybersecurity engineering teams in a large enterprise environment. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise security infrastructure across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. Experience with Zero Trust architecture, cloud security, identity platforms, and modern infrastructure technologies. Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure solutions.
